Several years ago I first heard that a diesel engine could be run on vegetable oil from my good friend, Rusty, in California. He had been converting diesel vehicles, tractors, bobcats, and more to run on vegetable oil for several years. Rusty mentored me with some very good techniques that had worked well for him over the years. However, I started to have problems with my own veggie truck while living in South Dakota, where the winter temperatures easily dropped, and remained, below zero. Rusty had refined several techniques that work fine for Southern California, but I knew that I would have to find something new that would work for those of us in cold weather climates.
Over the years I have researched many other systems
and products that are available today and found them to be inadequate
and, in fact, very dangerous to the driver and the vehicle, including
destroying the engine. This is how I developed my own products and
techniques, with the help of co-founder Chris Osley. We are both
Wisconsin state certified welders, and have a combined 30 years
of experience working on vehicles and engine systems.
We know that our products work because we have used them in our own vehicles for many thousands of miles, even in temperatures down to –30°F.
